The Shed Restaurant has created more than 100 new jobs, including a culinary team led by Chef Roberto Baez. Chef Roberto’s menu offers a bright take on American comfort food and features a robust list of specialty brunch, lunch and dinner menu items — from the indulgent to the healthful – with the full menu available all day. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available, and many menu items can be customized to be a vegan dish, making The Shed Restaurant the only restaurant at the property to offer vegan dining. The Shed’s enticing brunch, lunch & dinner menus are only made better by the ultra-friendly team and rustic beach-chic ambiance that incorporates warm textured woods, pops of color and intriguing works of art.
Local contractors involved in the project include electric work by Native Sons Ltd., based in Plainville, CT and interior design and architecture completed by id3a, based in Glastonbury, CT.
The Shed is an 8,785 square-foot space, complete with a 2,150 square-foot dining area, and a 3,150 square-foot scratch kitchen plus walk-in units. The space seats 205 guests, including 11 seats at a full bar. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis with the ability to join a text-based waitlist at the door.

]]>Newsweek published its annual rankings for the Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces? list, with Mohegan ranked 77. This is the second annual Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces? list in collaboration with the Best Practice Institute (BPI), a leadership development and benchmark research company.
The results were determined after surveying more than two million team members from businesses with workforces varying in size from 30 to over 10,000. The list recognizes companies that center respect, caring and appreciation for their employees in their business models and, in doing so, have earned the loyalty of their employees.

The five critical areas measured to gauge employee sentiment were how positive workers feel about their future at the company, career achievement, how much employer values align with employee values, respect at all levels and the level of collaboration at the firm. In addition, areas such as inclusion, employee wellness, diversity, career development and company leadership were identified and analyzed in relation to the five critical areas measured.

Methodology
BPI measures five primary areas to determine how employees feel about where they work to create the Most Loved Workplaces? list: the level of collaboration at the workplace, how positive workers are about their future at the company, how much employer values align with employee values; respect at all levels and career achievement. In consultation with Newsweek editors, BPI also considered employee wellness, diversity, inclusion, career advancement, and other workplace and talent development initiatives.
To identify the top 100 companies ranked in this Newsweek publication, companies were evaluated and scored as follows: 50 percent of the initial score was based on direct employee responses to BPI’s proprietary Love of Workplace Index? assessment. Another 15 percent was derived from analysis of external public ratings from sites such as Comparably, Careerbliss, Glassdoor, Indeed, and Google. The final 35 percent came from BPI’s direct interviews and written responses from company officials. Newsweek then researched every company on the list to determine the final list of 100 companies and their rankings.

]]>UNCASVILLE, CT (July 26th, 2023)?– Mohegan Sun, one of the premier entertainment destinations in the United States, has announced that it is amping up its game by opening a state-of-the-art Tesla Electric Vehicle (EV) Showroom. Set to open this fall, the unique Tesla Sales & Delivery Center will be located in The Shops at Mohegan Sun. Locals and visitors alike will soon have the chance to take home the Model Y, Model 3, Model S and more. Guests will also be able to learn more about Tesla’s solar and storage products.
This announcement between Mohegan Sun and the global EV leader, Tesla, creates a first-of-its-kind venture in Connecticut with the premiere Sales & Delivery center operating on Sovereign Tribal land.
“We’re really excited about this new Tesla EV Showroom opening this fall at Mohegan Sun,” said Jeff Hamilton, President & General Manager of Mohegan Sun. “This endeavor with Tesla marks an electrifying milestone in Mohegan Sun’s commitment to fostering impactful relationships, promoting environmental sustainability and offering cutting-edge experiences for our millions of annual guests, each of which are core goals of Mohegan Sun and the Mohegan Tribe.”
This new Tesla EV Showroom at Mohegan Sun is currently slated for a Fall 2023 opening. At that point, Connecticut residents and beyond can conveniently purchase and pick up their Tesla vehicles.
Tesla will also collaborate with Mohegan to integrate local talent into its workforce development programs, which can provide Mohegan Tribal members and Mohegan Team Members with opportunities to learn diverse skills and technician training, potentially paving the way for exciting career opportunities with Tesla.
The Shops at Mohegan Sun is a 130,000-square-foot two-story dining and shopping pavilion that connects Casino of the Sky to Casino of the Earth. Its breathtaking setting was designed by Rockwell Group and is home to exciting nightlife, award-winning dining and retail locations like COACH, Tommy Bahama, Robert Graham, LIDS and soon, Athleta and Tesla.
The showroom will be located across from Todd English’s Tuscany, with deliveries taking place nearby at Sky valet. Test drives for popular Tesla models will also be possible around the resort. ]]>The Mohegan Tribe, a sovereign, federally recognized Indian nation situated with a reservation in Southeastern Connecticut, and Mohegan, the world-renowned entertainment and gaming business, announced their inaugural Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Annual Report.
Mohegan’s ESG framework encompasses environmental sustainability initiatives, with a specific focus on: energy conservation and management of resources; social efforts that invest in and support team members; diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives; responsible gaming and local communities; as well as governance and business ethics that guide company leaders, team members, and its operations.
The Mohegan ESG Steering Committee consists of representatives across the enterprise and is responsible for the formal framework for the organization’s ESG initiatives. The ESG Steering Committee reports directly to Mohegan President and Chief Executive Officer, Raymond Pineault, and the Mohegan Management Board, which is comprised of key members of the sovereign Native American tribe.

Fausel will also support the continued success of Mohegan Sun’s new ad campaign “All in for Mohegan”.

]]>UNCASVILLE, CT – March 2, 2023 – Mohegan, world-renowned entertainment and gaming brand formerly known as Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, today announced the promotion of Cody Chapman to Public Relations Director and named Charisse Huff Public Relations Manager. Chapman and Huff will assist on external communication strategies and oversee media relations for Mohegan Sun and other Mohegan properties, with a focus on the Northeast. Mohegan PR is led by VP of Corporate ?Communications, Jennifer Ballester, who has been with Mohegan since the?opening of Mohegan Sun in 1996.
Cody Chapman, a member of the Mohegan Tribe, has been with Mohegan since 2007, where he started as PR Specialist for Mohegan Sun. In 2012, he took on responsibilities as Sports & Entertainment Publicist, a role currently held by Jacqueline LeBlanc. A key responsibility for the S&E Publicist involves media relations for the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena, which hosts more than 100 concerts and sporting events annually. In 2015, Chapman was named PR Manager for Mohegan Sun, a role in which gradually supported more corporate level initiatives for Mohegan. As Director, Chapman will guide the Public Relations team and strategize goals for the department, working closely with corporate leadership, Mohegan Sun leadership, corporate Communications and Mohegan PR firm, Coyne PR.
Charisse Huff joined Mohegan Sun in the fall of 2018 and in her time with the organization she has been a vital asset to the overall Marketing Communications department, serving first as PR Specialist before moving on to Communications Manager in 2021, where she helped synergize and streamline all major promotional efforts across PR, Social Media, Advertising and Internet Marketing. ?As PR Manager, Charisse will steer the day-to-day PR as well as lead efforts for major announcements, key events and milestones across the flagship property, Mohegan Sun, as well as Mohegan Pennsylvania in Wilkes-Barre, PA and Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ.
Both Chapman and Huff will also provide PR support for Mohegan Digital, which is Mohegan’s iGaming division.
Major events that Chapman and Huff supported in the last two years include Mohegan Sun’s 25th Anniversary, the opening of TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge, the launch of the 11,000 square-foot Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook and the 19th annual Sun Wine & Food Fest this past January, which saw record turn-out for its signature event, The Grand Tasting.
Chapman is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and Huff is a graduate of University of Hartford.
